Daimon of Nightmares, one of the Oneiroi, also known as the Melas Oneiros (Black Dream).  Aeschylus, in his play The Suppliants, one of the characters cries out for salvation from the Melas Oneiros, pleading with Ge and Zeus for relief. This is that shiver of fear that comes with a scary dream. The name is also applied to a fever that brings shivers. Epiales is called the Fever-god.
